Ullapool is the largest town in the northwest Highlands. Built by Thomas Telford out on the beautiful waters of Loch Broom, the town is a gateway to some of the most remarkable scenery in Britain. We feature walks to suit all levels of ability.

Argyll is one of the most popular holiday destinations in Scotland. It has hundreds of miles of beautiful coastline, stretching from the southern peninsulas of Kintyre and Cowal, to up past the popular resort of Oban. Inland are extensive forests and beautiful lochs, whilst out to sea are scores of islands. Best of all, this is a walkers area par excellence.

Fort William has been dubbed the Outdoor Capital of the UK and with good reason. Standing at the very foot of Ben Nevis, the range of walking and other outdoor activities on offer here and around Lochaber is tremendous.

The Cairngorms is Britains largest National Park and has four of its five highest mountains. At the core is a vast arctic plateau, an empty wilderness, almost encircled by the finest remants of the great pinewoods that once clothed Scotland. On the fringes are Aviemore and Speyside, popular holiday destinations for outdoor pursuits, walking and skiing.

Glen Affric, running inland from the village of Cannich, is renowned as possibly the most beautiful glen in Scotland. Its lower reaches are magnificently wooded with fine Scots pines; its middle section around Loch Affric is towered over by great mountains whilst its upper end is bare, wild and remote.

The most northerly part of Britain is a remarkable landscape. The north and west have terrific coastlines punctuated by great sea lochs backed by remarkable individual mountains rising above a bare and empty landscape. The eastern side is more populated but has many splended ruined castles, fine sandy beaches and other attractions. The whole area is a paradise for walkers.
